Just to be safe: I'd suggest that you contact your lawyer regarding this.
After which, try and see if you can contact the same person at ICE.
(Wouldn't want this to become a "reason" later.....for any issues, like someone to claim that you were a "no-show"...)
Another possibility might be that it still might be a hoax.
Some colleague@work might be aware the person's name who came by 2 months ago.
They might have decided to have fun with that info.....

Has anyone thought of the people who missed the august 17 deadline because the labor was not cleared within time. Because of no mistake from ourside, we have to suffer. What a screwed up legal situation ?

I don't know how many of you have actually visited DC offices and spoken to Congressional Office staff in person (not just sending E-mails or letters). I have been there, and done that. And I intend to continue to do that for myself, my family and the community..
Let me tell you this, if there is anything related to immigration - whether Visa recapture or increase in numbers - it will be with CIR. There was a slim chance for piecemeal legislation in the 110th Congress. There is almost none in the current Democrat-dominated Congress. This is the political reality we have to live with.
The question I was asked by the Congressional staff repeatedly was - 'If so many thousands are impacted, why are we seeing just 4-5 coming to DC asking for help? Why aren't we hearing about from our constituents? Why is it always 'the outsiders' approaching us? Why aren't they visiting us? Why aren't they writing letters to us?'. So many questions with no answers!
Fact of the matter is our community cannot get what it wants unless we willing to pull our butts off the couch and do the dirty groundwork. Just the 50 or so of us dedicated IV leaders cannot work miracles.
We don't have any magic spells or potions in our pockets. We need your help to succeed.

There should be support from most congress person for any bill to pass. All IV members should call the local congress person and request them to support the pro legal immigration bills.

Many of them were not confident of clearing labour on their own credentials ( BSC Zoology, BBA, BCOM etc..) or probably wanted to jump the line.
What make you think BCOM or BBA or BSC is less than any other Bachelor degree EB3 own labor guys have. I am not here to defend or oppose LS. But before you talk about people who are not from same educational background as you, you should come out of bottom of Rock you have been living and breathe some fresh air. I for one, who has BCom and able to get my labor and GC cleared without using any of short cuts. :mad::mad::mad:

Don't worry. Most likely, it is USCIS error. Check why after 140 approval, they sent to DOS while you are in Adjust of Status? May be USCIS entered wrong in system and creating issue.
I would take INFOPASS and contact local Congressman.

I'm posting this here since the old volunteer forums are no longer available. Where all have you posted flyers, info in CA?
For those in the Bay Area: Have you contacted the new Indian Community Center in http://indiacc.org/Default.aspx (they have locations in Milpitas and Sunnyvale)? I don't live in the South Bay, but it seems like this is a pretty active space. Wonder if they would let us give a talk, and/or post flyers etc. If no one has been in touch with them, I could try.

Guys...thanks for the support. But we need to find out and bring people who are suffered due to this. Once we get enough stories, I can create a draft. Along with these stories we can send the letter and start the campaign. So please spread this to everyone you know.
