I did not understand 'are not outside of processing time'. Can you please explain in detail.
My other thought is for July 2007 485 filer, 180 days is already completed. Assume the namecheck started on Aug 2007....
NSC is curretly processing EB I-485 cases filed before July 30, 2007. TSC - cases filed before April 10, 2007. So according to the USCIS policy: "If at any point your case should become more than 30 days outside our normal processing time, and you haven't received a written decision or update from us within the last 60 days, you can help us by calling customer service and letting us know. We will research your case, see what needs to be done to get it processed, and get back to you with an explanation."

also, ask your wife to get the immunization record of mmr and tetanus.
that will make your life easier.

Call your senator and explain your situation. I have done so in the past after I lost all papers. I have received drivers license on the basis of only photo copies.
Thanx for your suggestion.. DMV agreed after going up several managers to move the status check date 6 months away for me and my wife. I am planning to renew EAD and use that next time.. the stupidity will be paying the huge EAD fee for my wife just for driver license purpose even though she's not planning to work any time soon.

We need the numbers to make anything happen - if something as simple as cutting and pasting a letter cannot generate more than 20 participants when priority dates have become Unavailable again atleast for EB3I - I dont expect anything anymore to happen in the future. JUST BEING REALISTIC!!!

speaking for myself, i have tried to remain active, but suddenly got swamped with a huge work-load.
in this economy, performance is a matter of survival. Not to say that we should accept immigration to be a luxury.
It is a pity i had to miss the donor's telecon last week, simply as i was still working.
So bottom line: there are still people who are willing to participate and active, but it is a matter of immediate priorities.
Let us keep up the spirit and keep working....

For those of you celebrating the defeat of Democrats because they sabotaged CIR due to the "path to citizenship" it's time to get real. Conservatives (both Dems and Repubs) are more than comfortable shutting the door to ALL immigrants. Don't fall into the trap of anti-immigrant legislators, don't let them turn this into a wedge issue.
I agree with this 110%. Reps are more conservative. They don't want any non-american in this country. They would just say "GC or what.. Get the hell outta here".
Turning on the undocumented is not what we want to show to the outside, it is a losing proposition and will turn off the public.
As to what to do now, I'm puzzled. CIR is effectively dead in the US House, probably the Senate as well. The voters said loud and clear this week that they want the focus to be on JOBS not anything else like grandiose immigration legislation.
What to do now? Looks like another 2 years tacked on to the wait from my perspective :/

For how long is USCIS issuing the EAD & AP these days?
I got my EAD valid for 2 Yeays and AP valid for 1 year. It took almost 90 days for EAD to come by (from TSC)...and AP (from NSC) took about 110 days.

I would follow the advise of your immigration attorney on this one. Sometimes they ask for pay stubs, sometimes they do not. So I would follow what your attorney advises on you. They will ask for W2 and your tax returns to verify if you got paid whatever is written on your application as your salary.

As long as you are able to do what you want to do in life, that is what really matters. I don't have children yet, so that's not my worry. My spouse is on her own H1 and I hold two jobs on concurrent H1s.
Between the 3 jobs, we make good money, own two houses in the US, one overseas and live a content life. That's our GC, the actual GC is nice to have but it doesn't bother us that much...I bet there are plenty of GC holders out there who haven't gotten as far as I have...in terms of working 2 jobs & owning 2 houses.
So the moral of the story is, GC or no GC, live a good life, be content and don't miss out on the fun...don't let the GC fever bring you down..
If the hosung markets turned down like the NASDAQ 5 yrs ago, and brought down the whole economy with it, then as a result of the ensuing economic recession you lost one, two or all 3 of your jobs and ended up in negative equity, could not find a new job sponsoring H1b due to the deep recession and your greencard is nowhere in the near future. Would you still feel as secure and happy? I am not sure what country you are from, but would you make a salary close to what you are making here?

Loved them all but I was torn between eilsoe and kax. kax's shadows are what impressed me most, and if the castle was populated or had a little more color, I might have voted there, but I instead took to eilsoe's because of the people and captions ;) It also embodies more what I think of as 'pixel art', which is very straight or isometric, not to say those that werent wer bad because of that; in fact that gives a more impressive look and feel, but I needed some fun and eilsoe delivered. What shocked me most is that there were more people waiting in line at the mens bathrooms... hmm, guess its mostly guys there. :) The duck reflections were also a nice touch.

Two things I would like to mention here:
First, a possibilty of an RFE for your laetest Employment Verification only arises when certain red-flags are raised. Among them are:
1.) Address on file (which has changed after filing I-485) is in a different state from the place of employment. Now I am sure the officer knows that DC and Virginia/Maryland or NH and MA are different states but still they can be daily commuter workers sou could be spared.
I have seen more than a bunch of folks getting RFE's for this specific reason.
2.) Long time (upto the discretion of the CAO..but I feel it is more than 18 months) has passed since the I-485 has filed.
3.) Any other history of excessive job-hopping.
Please pitch in if you know any other substantive reason.

For the job description from the new employer: I would say put whatever the new employer says but make sure ...for sure to copy paste two related sentences from your old job desc. into the new one to be the first bullets in the description.
I had changed jobs using AC21, used EAD, moved to a different state (5-6 states apart, i.e not a daily commuter) had a slightly different job title. Oh I was so sure that I would get an RFE ...I made sure I sent the AC21 docs against the advise of my attorney (he wanted CIS to send the RFE, made no sense as that would have literally wasted time and my money ;))...and did all the things that I just said about the new EVL...and got the I-485 approved without any issues.
Go ahead and make the best of AC21!:)

Currently where I am working client willing to hire me as a fulltime employee with the same titile and giving me the supporting letter with the same job duties mentioned in my LC (I have added few more technologies it).
Even my attorney says the same, no need to inform CIS - when we get the RFE we will see.
Can you kindly let me know all the documents I need to gather and what I need to request from new employer in order to submit AC21 bunch to CIS.

Yes you are right, there is bound to have EAD flood in market, with spouses of hi-tech worker will come to market to search hi-tech job with spouse phone support. I have seen such cases countless times in past few years and yes they will be in future without exception. However, matter of fact, these fresh EAD (previous H4) don't get the dream job in first attempt, it takes good 2 year to find a similar job that H1b hitech worker does.
But thats the realty of market, every year new jobs are added and every year new job seekers join the crowd.
On the otherside, a hitech worker is suppose to always learning something new and getting his/her position more stronger everyday, its a knowledge market, whoever knows more gets better $$. With my 7yr US exp and total 10 yrs CS exp I have no scare that any single fresh EAD will come close to me. A senior is always a senior no matter which field you talk.

Houston Indian consulate is horrible. Just horrible. They are rude and totally anti-customer friendly. It is unbelieveable how rude they can be. I have tried to contact him numerous times in my last 10 yrs in US and never was I able to get a reply to my emails/faxes or phone calls. I had trouble when i was an indian citizen and had to renew my passport, had trouble when I had to get tourist visa, had trouble when i had to get my indian passport cancelled and trouble when i had to get some misc. services for my daughter. They keep changing rules (example they changed the way they give tourist visas to people of indian origin, they changed the rules and prices to even just surrender the passport).Everytime my only option was to drive all the way to Houston and be at the mercy of their rudeness. I do not see any point in External ministry of india helping because they are equally worse. It sad and dealing with beauracracy is just a part. The whole problem is that they are not accountable. I dont even know whom to complain for the fact that I cannot even get somebody on the phone and have to drive all the way to Houston just to get a minor question answered.
