Definite. My journey was worth it, even considering all the diffiulties. In India, I had a flourshing practice and when I was planning to go to US, my friends will call be a "fool".
However, looking back, I think I made a wise decision. I have a very good academic job, for which I am proud of. My wife has a very respectable job, which she could not have done there. My kids are much more independent and mature and have more opportunities in terms of education, jobs, travel etc. My health is far better here (I was allergic to dust and had athma). I have more time to enjoy sports and travel. Most of my immediate family is in US.
In nutshell, YES, I did the right thing.

Guys we see a very unhealthy trend here where any disagreement is not tolerated. This forum is for legal skilled immigrants and we sometimes show how unskilled we are when it comes to tolerance of opinion here.
isantem, while I understand the diversity argument, when it comes to skilled immigration it doesn't really help. The data itself shows that the overwhelming number of skilled immigrants come from India/China. If the objective is to let the most skilled immigrants in, then the US should forget about diversity. Unfortunately in terms of volume and talent combined, India and China handily beat the rest of the world. Even if EB3 goes to 2002 so be it, but at least you are treating all skilled immigrants on a level playing field rather than discriminating them based on where they were born. If the US continues to do this, there is a serious danger (and this has been documented) that skilled folks in India/China will no longer find the US attractive. Its already happening with the economy booming in India. In fact, we'll probably see you or your kids standing in line for an Indian or Chinese green card in a few years (and I doubt India or China will focus on diversity when it comes to attracting the most skilled talent).
The last line is only a Dream.. I value your opinion, and wish that to happem. as they say Sounds Good, given the situation Political and economic in India and China it will never ever happen. Politically motivated religious fights, killing the political opponent who is having a diferent opinion, no entry for good thinking poeple in all levels in India. you can get medicals in 2 hours.
Not sure if this is chicago/pittsburgh.
your only option is to find out by calling all numbers in chicago and pittsburgs.
People have flown in from various locations into chicago and got medicals in 2 hours.
also, ask your wife to get the immunization record of mmr and tetanus.
that will make your life easier.
x-ray is mandatory.

Sad to see students being punished like this. They are just taking advantage of the system and make some money, but not doing anything illegal. That's what we are all here for right? Make some money. If enrolling for F1 and working somewhere else is against rules, then why did USCIS issue F1 and CPT to the students.

If we want to stay in this country, we need a president who can take this country progressively to the future instead of "lets take the country back" "this is not the country I grew up in" rhetoric! If this country goes backwards in time while the rest of the world embraces progress - guess what? - No use having a GC here.

I have my Automobile and Home insurance through Amica. But they declined to give me a Life Insurance Quote because i am not a citizen or a GC holder. They are ready to insure the cars I drive and the house i live in, but not me.
I am not too happy with this scenario and i have sent an email to them asking reasons on why they cannot accept my life insurance. After all i will be paying them right. If i dont get a valid response from them i will be going to somebody who is not impartial to Resident Aliens (PPL on Visas)
May be another point to add to our Debate.
Go to know this. Has anyone experienced problems with health insurance too. Especially health insurance taken by individuals themselves rather then provided by employers?

No I did not, I put H1B transfer and joined new company later he found out and i told him over phone i joined another company but my H1B with his company is still active.

A lot of folks assumed that all the spill over will end up in the EB-2 I/C lap. It does not as long as there is no retrogression across the entire EB-2 category severely, making the old PD golden (this is not going to happen) or there is very less demand for EB1 and EB2-ROW numbers.
While I agree with your analysis, I feel that the number of employers/applicants filing for Labor/140/485 has started a downward spiral in 2008. This means lesser demand for EB1 and EB-2 ROW numbers making the numbers available to EB-2 I & C. Again, it is very well possible that there are just enough number of people from both Eb1 & EB-2 ROW categories left & entering in the system to deny the numbers to EB-2 I & C. Unless the state of the economy continues like this, shedding 600K jobs in one month, equal to number jobs in the state of Maine, we can't say that EB-2 I & C can become close to current or leap into 2007 and beyond. Then we might be current and have a GC but the economic situation would be so worse that people don't care for GC. God Forbid we have to see that and lets hope and pray that the Stimulus will resuscitate the economy
