Need suggestion how to proceed with my new approved I140.
I have two approved LC.
1. PD EB3 SEP 2003 for which my I140 was approved and I have applied 485 during July 2007.
2. PD EB3 MAR 2002 I got my I140 approval yesterday.
All for same company.
Is it possible for me use my new I140 for my 485 which I have I filled already? I have requested my company’s attorney to find options.

Its all gray, but after reading posts on forums the disadvantage is the same: RFEs.
If your employer withdraws your I-140 180 days past your 485 filing, USCIS will potentially issue an RFE again for employment verification letter. If you had filed a new EVL at the time of doign AC-21, USCIS knows that the I-140 revocation does not mean the end of the road, you have actually ported over to someone and he intends to hire you. Note that even 180 days past your 485 filing, you still need SOME employer to sponsor a same/similar job. (unless you are exceedingly brave and are going to self-port)

I got my I-140 Approved in 2007 and I-485 applied in July Fiasco. working for same employer who filed labor in PERM. Recently got letter from DHS stating that I485 denied as it was filed when dates are not current.
In july 2007, USCISreleased memo stating that they will accept all applications till August 17' 2007. Mine was reached on Aug 14'2007 well before deadline. Got I485 reciept in october 2007.

I'm done. I posted whatever I had on WhiteHouse.gov and wrote to my Senator. I think the strength is in numbers - so the effectiveness of this depends on the number of people that write in - Even if people dont include their personal stories, just the fact that you will include your address when you write to your senator makes it personal. Just my 2 cents!!!

I don't know why do we (EB community) support it?
1. There is no economic sense for DREAM act. You are going to make illegal people legal - without any much restrictions. How about kids of people who are waiting for their GCs (kids born in native country)? Don't you see any unfair treatment handed out to kids of legal immigrants.
2. Why not give them legal status until age of 18 or 21, then they must prove their worth to economy by going to F1 visa , h1 visa & using available path to immigration?
3. It is about re-uniting families - There are people struggling in legal immigration queue who want to unite with their families - parents - there is no provision in law or effort of making it possible.
This is all politics & I will never support it.

Did you guys get a chance to look at data for Mexico by any chance? Since there is only a backlog for EB3 can one assume that things will improve in the next 2 years or will legislative relief be required for Mexico as well?

How about boycotting CNN. The immigration community should boycott CNN. That will send a strong message to CNN with there current trouble with there rattings.
The idea is - use this guy and expose media that gives false news or that supresses real issues and force those types of media to bring our issue to limelight.
I have heard all media saying "We are immigrant nation", "we need skilled immigrants", "'We are not racist", etc.. then again the same media says "Immigrants are overstaying visas", "There is quota, we cannot do anything", same media has supressed microsoft's news about the Canada development center just because it involved immigration.
I am of a strong opinion that media is controlled by politicians, the reporters who said they will cover the flower campaign - chances are that their bosses may ask them not to or give them another assignment ???

Please guys, I understand the frustration we're all going through but do not compare it to what happened to the Jews under the Nazis. We are indeed in a bad situation but comparing it to genocide is too much.

Transit visa is needed for indian citizens who are travelling with AP and without visa through lufthansa/Germany.
Here is my conversation with German embassy.
Exception Number 3 apply to you. So that means that you need to apply
for an airport transit visa.

This is so depressing ...
Are they still talking about increasing H1Bs? That will create a bigger mess and those new H1Bs will have to wait 20 years before they can apply I485. Hopefully those who wish to come here as H1B will know the reality and won't be "trapped" as some of us have.
