I am in exact same situation. The company that is going to sponsor my H1 checked with two attorneys and both said that I will need a fresh H1 in April07 and I can start working from Oct07. Even I never got to work on my earlier H1. I guess this is because you need previous paystubs for H1 transfer. Let me know if you hear otherwise from your attorneys.

Turning on the undocumented is not what we want to show to the outside, it is a losing proposition and will turn off the public.
We have to show the public that we follow laws and our position is the same as that of the US govt - no illegal border crossing.
Employing illegals is breaking the law.
Our loyalty is first with the federal govt obviously.
Openly supporting/harboring/encouraging a single illegal is breaking federal law, and will land a person in Jail and can get him deported.
Its a misconception that voicing opposition to illegals will turn off the public from IV, in fact its the other way around .
If a reader cannot comprehend the difference a legal immigrant makes, they are wasting our time anyway, and should go back to high school.
We are a completely seperate group, and as an organization our only relation with them is due to politics, because of which we try to stay neutral.
We can side with them, if they promise to return all my taxes paid so far. Unlike the undoccumented, we have many options.
The voters said loud and clear this week that they want the focus to be on JOBS not anything else like grandiose immigration legislation.
Nothing grandoise is going to happen with immigration for the next few or many years, especially CIR. The only bills that can go through are piece meal and ones targetting specific issues.
I want to repeat, I have nothing against illegals, but the overall opinion of them is pretty negative in the majority of the country.
I hope there is a solution that can help them, but I can't find anything beyond a temporary visa.

but the bigger question is are you even an immigrant? If not, why are you here? If you are, what is your status? have you filed for green card application, did u get it already, or whats the deal? We are all wondering if you are just leeching around giving your free opinion around here.

I think most of EB3I and EB2I are missing one point.
EB3I didn't loose anything by the change in spillover policy few years back.
It is EB3-world who lost. Obviously EB2I and EB2C was on the gainers side.
EarlierSpillover EB1row->EB2row->EB3row->EB1I/C->EB2I/C->EB3I/C
CurrentSpillover EB1row->EB1I/C->EB2row->EB2I/C->EB3row->EB3I/C
(or to be more precise, it is currently EB1->EB2->EB3 since spill overs are not considering country based limitations)
Either way EB3I was last in the que. So nothing changed for EB3I or EB3C.
EB2I or EB2C on the other hand moved ahead of EB3row, that is very noticeable.
EB1I/C also moved ahead of EB2row, by this is not that noticeable, since all these categories were close to "current" either way.
In summary, you change the spillover whatever way.... EB3I is always going to be at the end of the line, least benefiting from any spill over.

From what I gathered, you were just being a messenger and if you look at my post, I have never referred to you in anything. All my answers were directed to hadron. At the same time its a little frustrating to us when people repeatedly keep on questioning our goals/legitimacy. Being a messenger, you bore the brunt from some of us :(

The anchor started off the interview by making a reference to "hi tech workers" and that some of these folks were in the British terror plot !! Not related to this thread but I did not want to open a new thread for this question..
As you can see I am EB2-I (info above) and am waiting in line for my turn but I am just wondering if L1 route to GC is quicker? If so then how?
Not that I am trying to do it because I can not :) but I know someone who just got his GC via L1 in matter of months and here we all EB guys are waiting..

I think u r in a trap here. I recently talked to a HR of a desi company and he clearly told me his boss does not want to file for 485 for all eligible applicants and is working on strategies to fool his employees into prolonging things till dates retrogress.
U can choose ur lawyer, u don't have to let employer know u applying for 485 at all. Do not link ur lawyer and employer for any reason. Keep them both away. U already have 140 approved and u have nothing to lose.

Sats123, Chanduv23 is correct, also reading that with the paystubs you can avoid the employer letter saying that you work in such position and for such salary, finding out what position they used to file your labor (did you find it in the database on my previous post) and considering that you are about to get ripped off, it would be advisable that you go through that lawyer that someone was saying charges 1000 to file your papers and 500 for your spouse;
Did you get the medicals? I know it takes time now to get an appointment, and if you want to file the I-485 on your own, please ask if you have questions, I think you can get out of this trap and before the immigration rates hike on July 30th.

For AP renewal, do I need to send photos by mail again? I thought USCIS uses the picture on file. Folks please correct me if I am wrong. Could some one PM me the letter format?
